Jamie Carragher has selected his best Manchester United and Arsenal combined team from the Premier League era – and has snubbed Gary Neville.
The former Liverpool centre-back revealed his pick on Sky Sports, where he selected six Manchester United legends and five Arsenal heros.
In goal Carragher has gone for Peter Schmeichel over David Seaman, and has picked Ashley Cole at left back with Rio Ferdinand and Tony Adams at centre-back.
If Neville was hoping his Sky Sports co-pundit was going to select him at right-back he’d have been bitterly disappointed, with Carragher going for Denis Irwin – a man who played most of his career on the other side of the pitch.
Both Arsenal and Manchester United have boasted some incredible midfield players over the years, making the task of whittling it down to four nearly impossible.
As a result such stars as Paul Scholes, Emmanuel Petit, Marc Overmas, Robert Pires and David Beckham have not made the cut.
But of course Cristiano Ronaldo has, with Carragher sticking him on the right flank.
On the other side of the pitch Carragher has selected Ryan Giggs, while on-pitch rivals Patrick Vieira and Roy Keane line up alongside each other in the middle.
Selecting just two strikers from United and Arsenal is also a seemingly impossible task, but Carragher has gone for Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp.
Wayne Rooney may be Manchester United’s all-time leading goal scorer but he’s not made the cut on this occassion.
