Jamie Carragher has criticised Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for his negative reaction towards Arsenal’s younger players following their defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

Freddie Ljungberg’s side found themselves three goals down by half time against the Premier League champions as Kevin De Bruyne scored twice while Raheem Sterling also struck from close range.

Aubameyang, meanwhile, struggled to make an impact in the game as Arsenal registered just one shot on target in the whole game which came after 33 seconds.

The Gunners captain was criticised last week after he was caught berating Joe Willock for the midfielder’s misplaced pass during the 2-1 defeat at home to Brighton.

And Carragher believes Aubameyang should be helping Arsenal’s younger players as opposed to publicly criticising them on the pitch.

‘At times he’s looked like he is that type of player,’ Carragher said during his commentary for Sky Sports.

‘Big fan of his, he’s not shy in letting other people know when he’s not happy.

‘I think there was a similar incident in the last home game [with Joe Willock] against Brighton.

‘I don’t like that. There are a lot of young players here at Arsenal.

‘It’s a difficult time for these club.

‘I’ve said it before but I don’t think the experienced players are bringing in enough.

‘We’ve all been young players at some stage, we all need help.’
