James Safechuck’s allegations against Michael Jackson have been branded impossible by a biographer of the late pop star, who has claimed to have discovered a major flaw in the case.

James alleges that he was abused by Michael between 1988 and 1992 and one of the allegations details an assault that James claims took place in an upstairs room in Neverland’s train station.

However UK journalist and author Mike Smallcombe has told The Mirror that ‘the deficiency in Safechuck’s story is this – construction on Neverland’s train station didn’t start until the latter part of 1993, and it didn’t open until the first part of 1994’.

He added: ‘So abuse in the train station wasn’t possible if the abuse stopped in 1992, as he claims in his testimony, as it didn’t even exist then. There’s a two year difference.’

James, now 41, claims in his lawsuit against Jackson’s Estate that he was abused from 1988 until 1992, when he was 14.

James and Wade Robson both appeared in the controversial documentary Leaving Neverland; Wade, now 36, alleges that he was abused from when he was seven until he was 14.

Jackson’s estate has denied all allegations of abuse, calling the allegations ‘character assassination’.

Neverland Ranch was named after the fantasy island in Peter Pan, with the fairground, railroads, petting zoo and basketball courts on the premises making it a child’s dream.

In the documentary, the men allege that Jackson used the childlike fantasy and vast space of Neverland to abuse them.

James alleges that Jackson molested him in a number of rooms around the estate, including in the pool and jacuzzi, in a hidden bedroom above the arcade, in a guest house which held memorabilia, and in a room above Michael’s private cinema.

In Leaving Neverland, James says: ‘There was a castle in the theme park, and upstairs there was a bedroom. You could see if somebody was coming. It had just a small bed. Up there, we would have sex.

‘He had an Indian fort with teepees, so we would lay down sleeping bags, have snacks and then have sexual relations there . . . There’s a third floor attic. It was kind of secluded. You could only get to it from these steep stairs. You could tell if somebody was coming. So we would go in there and have sex.’

According to James, the layout of Neverland helped Jackson keep the alleged abuse a secret.

He claimed: ‘The routine was we would get a blanket and lay it down on the floor inside of the closet next to his main bed, so we could close the doors and have several doors that people had to get through.

‘There were bells, so you would have a moment of hearing them chirp, and at least it alarmed him to when people were coming.’
