James May: ‘I’m falling apart’ The Grand Tour host talks fears amid Jeremy Clarkson swipe

The Grand Tour host James May, 56, fronts the Amazon series with Jeremy Clarkson, 59, and Richard Hammond, 50. In an interview this week, he said he fears ageing and wouldn’t want to “fall apart” on camera.

He said: “How do I feel about ageing? Bad.

“I’m in the second half of my fifties now and in all honesty, I’m slightly falling apart.

“I’m developing nervous disorders and aches and I don’t think I’ll do this much longer because I don’t want to fall apart in public.”

The car enthusiast went on to take a flippant swipe at his co-star Jeremy as he added to The Sun: “Jeremy’s possibly even more decrepit than me.”

When asked if he felt he understood it any better now, he said: “Not really.”

Of understanding Britain, he added: “Maybe not at the moment – but historically I’ve understood it reasonably well, I think.”

Elsewhere, Jeremy has revealed he wants to make a new The Grand Tour special in a cold country following the success of their one-off show based in South East Asia.

The trio swapped cars for boats to sail across the Mekong River in the new The Grand Tour season 4 special.
