The producers later surprised James with a video of congratulatory messages from past guests.
“I didn’t know about this,” he told viewers as he watched the VTs.
After the clip ended, the host appeared choked up as he wiped away a tear.
He then hesitantly said: “Brilliant, you got me going there.”
