James Jordan: ‘We’d have proper judges’ Strictly star hits out at show's panel after final

James Jordan, 41, has slammed the Strictly Come Dancing 2019 judging panel after Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse lifted the Glitterball Trophy in last night’s final. The former Strictly professional shared his thoughts on the result in his column about the show for Hello! magazine alongside his pregnant wife Ola Jordan, 37.

James appeared to suggest that although Karim Zeroual was the “best dancer” from week one, the show “isn’t a proper competition”, as it doesn’t have “proper judges”.

Discussing the panel, which stars head judge Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli, he said: “I’m pleased that Kelvin won.

“I just feel that it’s not just about who is the best dancer, if it was just about that you could have just said in week one, ‘Karim has won.’

“It’s an entertainment show, it’s not a proper competition because otherwise we’d have proper judges, wouldn’t we? [Laughs].”

Ola added: “To be honest with you, any of them winning would have been right in some respect.

“A lot of people wanted Anton and Emma to win, and a lot of people wanted Karim to win. Any of them would have been good.”

James went on to admit he was disappointed that the judges didn’t award Emma Barton and Anton du Beke with four 10s for their routines.

He told the publication: “I do think Anton and Emma deserved four tens you know. Their Charleston, for me, deserved four tens.

“Karim is the best dancer and Amy is lovely.

“And would love to see Anton finally pick up that trophy. Kelvin gets my vote! #Strictly.”

In a separate post, the star added: “I also feel unfortunately Karim has no chance of winning.

“It’s a one horse race in my opinion and rightly so.”
