James Jordan ‘overwhelmed’ as he thanks fans for support after revealing dad has terminal cancer

James Jordan has been ‘overwhelmed’ by the amount of support he has received, after sharing his heartbreak over his dad’s illness.

The former Strictly star’s dad has faced a number of health difficulties in the last few months, with James disclosing that his dad had suffered from a stroke and seizures.

Sharing another update six days ago, James revealed that his dad’s ill health was due to a tumour, as he explained his dad has now been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

James told fans it has been the ‘worst time of his life’ and called for their help as he explained he is now looking for the ‘best surgeon’, as he now wants a second opinion after doctors previously told him they are unable to operate.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, James revealed the help and messages he has received has been ‘overwhelming’.

Thanking those that have reached out, he tweeted: ‘People say “social media is such a terrible place” & on many occasions I agree However, the help and love I’ve had from so many people I’ve never met & probably never will is overwhelming.’

‘I can honestly say I’ve read ALL messages on Insta & Twitter I thank & love you ALL,’ he added.

It comes after James’ initial post where he shared a video of his dad holding his baby daughter. The Dancing On Ice winner welcomed daughter Ella back in February with wife Ola.

James shared a lengthy message with his followers alongside the sweet clip that read: ‘This video is the most precious & personal thing I have in my life right now & I’m going to share it with you but with a totally broken heart ?

‘Over the last 4 months my hero and best mate in the whole world has been in and out of hospital with very ill health. We were told several times that 100% he had had a stroke and that’s why they were struggling to control his seizures… but after the 3rd time of being admitted to hospital I knew something was not quite right.’

He said: ‘It was what I had dreaded, my dad has a tumour and after having a biopsy it’s come back that it’s an aggressive cancerous one. The worst kind, unfortunately.

‘We have been told that it’s not advisable to operate because of where the tumour is and wouldn’t actually make that much difference even if they could. The end result is, it’s terminal ?

‘They are saying with chemotherapy and radiotherapy we might be lucky and get a year with him. As I write this tears are streaming down my face as I’m sure many of you have the same love for your parents.’

James explained that after doctors misdiagnosed his dad for four months, he is now searching for a second opinion in the hope of exploring every ‘possible’ avenue for his father.

He told fans: ‘If anyone that reads this can advise me and my family on who is supposedly the best in this field i would be eternally grateful. My heart is broken.’
