James Corden received the ‘single most upsetting’ tweet he’d ever read about his family on Monday night, after making a Game of Thrones joke that included a spoiler.

A huge GoT fan himself, The Late Late Show host was so hurt by the message, which was provoked by a meme about Season 8, that he chose to reply to the Twitter user who wished cancer on his child.

Corden, who has two daughters Carey, three, and one-year-old Charlotte and seven-year-old son Max, could not seem to get his around the evil tweet, which ultimately got the social media user’s account suspended.

The disturbing message said that: ‘It’s fucked up that you can’t even watch TV without a fat fuck spoiling something…’

Despite the user admitting that he had already seen the episode that he felt Corden ‘spoiled,’ he went on to wish James’s son harm in a since-deleted tweet.

The shocked TV host replied by saying: ‘That is, without question, the single most upsetting thing I think you could ever say about me or my family.

‘Please take a minute and think about what you just wrote and whether you want to be a person who publicly says such things. I believe you’re better than that.’

The troll then tried to dismiss it as a joke, but the damage was already done.

Corden said: ‘Well I saw your hope for my son. My hope for yours is that they never get to read that their mother or father would wish cancer on any child as ‘a joke’.

‘Because however you defend [the joke] to them, they’ll never be able to understand how you could do such a thing. Night x

The joke aired on Monday night as Corden referenced the fallout from the fifth episode of Game of Thrones’s final series in a meme comparing it to President Trump’s trade war with China.

The eighth series of Game of Thrones airs in the US on Sunday nights and Mondays in the US, yet viewers who may not have seen the latest episode will do well to avoid spoilers on social media.

The episode itself, entitled The Bells, turned out to be the most slated installment of all time, giving the keyboard warriors fingers of fire with their scathing reviews.
