James Corden plays Boris Johnson in hilarious SNL sketch on NATO leaders gossiping about Trump

JAMES Corden has turned heads after playing Boris Johnson in a hilarious SNL sketch on the NATO leaders gossiping about Donald Trump.

The Gavin and Stacey star was joined by Jimmy Fallon as Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, and Paul Rudd as French President Emmanuel Macron.

Set in the Nato cafeteria, the sketch sees the group of world leaders, including the Prime Minister attempt to keep the US president, played by Alec Baldwin from sitting at their table.

Eventually the group invite German Chancellor Angela Merkel played by Kate McKinnon to join them instead.

Sporting a comical blonde wig, Corden makes jokes such as “why don’t you Brexit out of here, dweeb?”.

He then turns on his old fried Trump, declaring “I’m hanging out with these guys now.”

The sketch plays on an incident earlier in the week in which Mr Johnson, Mr Trudeau and Mr Macron were filmed gossiping about the US president’s unorthodox style.

In an incident at Buckingham Palace, the group, along with Ms Merkel, were seen giggling as the Canadian President mocked the former reality star.

At the end of the sketch, Corden sticks a sign on Baldwin’s back that reads: “Impeach me!!!”

The dig is not the first time the American comedy show has taken a swing at a British Prime Minister.

In December 2018, the show portrayed Theresa May after the former Tory leader survived a confidence vote, with McKinnon playing Mrs May and Matt Damon in the role of David Cameron.
