James Corden Mocks Elizabeth Holmes, Theranos With ‘Poo’ Company Sketch

James Corden parodies the infamous Elizabeth Holmes and her failed blood-testing technology company, Theranos — the subject of the recent HBO documentary The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley  in a goofy sketch from Wednesday’s Late Late Show.

The clip looks back at Corden’s fake, “multi-billion-dollar heath company” that aimed to “transform the landscape of modern medicine as we know it — “no more disease, no more doctors, no more death.” His process? Collecting feces in Skechers shoe boxes. He never figures out the next step.

Throughout the pre-filmed segment, Corden mocks Holmes’ low speaking voice, focused gaze and black turtleneck. Using interview footage with people involved in the fake company, “The Entrepooneur” surveys the disaster investment and Corden’s fall from being touted as “the next Steve Jobs” to being revealed as a con man with “no scientific background.”

Instead of curing humanity, he winds up deceiving investors for $500 million as “boxes and boxes of poo” continue to pile up. Through it all, he maintains his vision: “one poo, one box, one dream.”
