James Charles stunned fans after he debuted a cleanly shaved head on social media – but fans are suspicious it might not be real.

The YouTuber, 21, took to his Instagram story to share a photo of himself with red scribbles covering the top of his head as he teased: ‘Wait until you guys see what I did with my hair…’

He then shared a paparazzi photo of him exiting a car with an entirely bald head, followed by a photo of him at dinner with perfect make-up and lashes as he revealed the full transformation.

James reposted several reactions from fans on Twitter, which compared him to everything from Jeff Bezos to Voldemort.

His pal Larray posted: ‘b**h u look like voldemort if he was gay’ while a fan joked: ‘BREAKING: James Charles to play Jeff Bezos in new biopic. Expected to hit streaming platforms this summer.’

Manny MUA (aka Manny Gutierrez) joked: ‘when you facetimed me to show me… my gasp could be heard around the world.’

Other comparisons fans came up with included Uncle Fester from The Addams Family, Balloony from Phineas and Ferb and cartoon character Caillou.

While the striking transformation was pretty flawless, some fans speculated that it might be a bald cap giving James the look rather than a pair of clippers.

One fan found a snap of the back of the beauty star’s head, in which it appeared to give away that it was a bald cap as the surface showed some ripples.

They tweeted: ‘oh sis… you tried. but we know,’ revealing they thought the transformation was very much temporary.

There’s been no word from James himself just yet, but all eyes are on whether he will reveal that it was all an elaborate hoax in the end.
