No Time To Die’s newly-released second international trailer may have given away a major plot point.
Suffice to say, spoiler alert.
(But then again, it could just be the internet’s overactive imagination, so possibly not.)
In the English language version of the trailer, Daniel Craig’s Bond is heard saying he’s met ‘your new OO’ – Lashana Lynch’s character, Nomi.
However, in the dubbed Italian and Spanish versions of the trailer, he says ‘007’.
This, of course, is Bond’s own code name – and, as we already know, Craig is bowing out of the franchise after this final flick.
Debate and speculation has raged for months, if not years, over whether a woman should take over the iconic role of Bond in the future.
While not confirming or denying the potential change during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last year, Lashana did say of backlash from racist trolls: ‘It doesn’t dishearten me. It makes me feel quite sad for some people because their opinions, they’re not even from a mean place — they’re actually from a sad place.
‘It’s not about me. People are reacting to an idea, which has nothing to do with my life.’
Stars like Jane Seymour and Cillian Murphy have meanwhile spoken out in favour of the change – but the likes of Piers Morgan and Joanna Lumley are against it.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain last year, TV host Piers said: ‘Jane Seymour, famous Bond girl, wants a female Bond. We’ve had this debate before…
‘I love Jane Seymour, absolutely think she’s wonderful, but this is so wrong. We don’t need a female James Bond, because his name is James Bond.’
The upcoming Bond film, which has suffered months of coronavirus-induced push backs, will also feature Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek and rising star Ana de Armas.

No Time To Die is due for release on November 12 in the UK and November 20 in the US.
