Lashana Lynch looked like she meant business as she was spotted on the set of new James Bond movie, No Time To Die, on Wednesday.
It was recently revealed the 31-year-old would be ‘introduced as 007’ in the next instalment, and she seemed well up for the part as she began filming with the gang.
The star ready for action as she was spotted in Italy, donning an all-navy outfit for the day, with a huge gun strapped to her leg.
Let’s just hope no one got on her bad side…
But it wasn’t all tense, as Lashana was later seen joking around with a crew member after the cameras stopped rolling.
The Captain America star’s role in the spy franchise had been kept mainly under wraps, but an insider has claimed her introduction will have viewers ‘dropping their popcorn’ in shock.
The source claimed there ‘a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says, “Come in 007” and in walks Lashana, who is black, beautiful and a woman.’
Well, while we don’t normally condone popcorn wasting, celebrating queen Lashana is more than enough reason to drop it.
The debate about whether or not we should finally be blessed with a female James Bond has raged on for years, even moreso recently as No Time To Die marks Daniel Craig’s last outing in the role.
Joanna Lumley recently waded into the whole thing, adamant his replacement should be a man – after Richard Madden, Idris Elba and Damian Lewis were tipped for the role.
Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk about the casting, the Absolutely Fabulous actress told us: ‘He took very special pains to describe James Bond, who was a man, and this was written in the early 50s, who was a British man of a certain height and build and a rather cruel face, a lean build.
‘It seems odd to me you’d make that a woman.’
While Bond star Ben Whishaw – who plays Q in the films – is keen for there to finally be a huge change up.
‘Why not? Reinvention of these long-running things is good – it’s essential in fact,’ he told PA.
‘So I think it could be amazing.’
James Bond: No Time To Die will be released in cinemas on 3 April, 2020.
