The 32-year-old actor was a little known TV presenter just a few years ago before bagging the lead role in Crazy Rich Asians. Since then Golding has featured in A Simple Favour and Monsoon before starring opposite Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke in Last Christmas later year. Being a bit of a suave gent, it’s unsurprising that he’s now a contender in the race to be the next James Bond after Daniel Craig. Golding’s best odds of taking up the Licence to Kill are only 22-1, but his fans are certainly behind him being the first mixed-race 007.
The actor joked: “I could use the old white glove [mimes slapping someone in the face with a glove].
“Oh, touche [laughs]. No, I used to do a little bit of Muay Thai as a kid, a bit of boxing…”
“So an action movie, a sci-fi action movie would be my favourite thing in the world to do.”
Well then, perhaps after Bond 25 Golding will get the call for that prized 007 audition?
