James Bond: Henry Golding drops BIG Daniel Craig replacement hint – Here's why

The incumbent James Bond still has No Time To Die to be released next year. But after that Daniel Craig is expected to hand in his Licence to Kill. There are a number of big names in the mix for the next 007, with one of them being Last Christmas and Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding.

The 32-year-old has best odds of 8-1 to be the next James Bond.

And now Golding has responded to those rumours he’s in the running.

Speaking with BBC Radio 1, he said: “It’s a crazy, crazy idea.

“But stranger things have happened.

“I’m just excited for Daniel Craig. Y’know he’s been my Bond.”

Meanwhile, odds have slashed on Golding’s Last Christmas co-star Emilia Clarke to be the first female Bond.

The Game of Thrones and Star Wars lead has seen her odds cut from 100-1 to 20-1.

In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Clarke was asked if she would consider being the first female Bond, replying: “Yeah! Of course! Hell to the yeah!

“James Bond is one of those franchises where it’s never not cool.”

She added: “You could literally make the naffest James Bond in the world and it would still be cool.”

Golding and Clarke’s Last Christmas synopsis reads: “Nothing seems to go right for young Kate, a frustrated Londoner who works as an elf in a year-round Christmas shop.

“But things soon take a turn for the better when she meets Tom — a handsome charmer who seems too good to be true. As the city transforms into the most wonderful time of the year, Tom and Kate’s growing attraction turns into the best gift of all — a Yuletide romance.”

Last Christmas is released in UK cinemas on November 15, 2019.
