James Bond 25: Moneypenny star Naomie Harris on ‘real EVOLUTION’ of 007 and if film JINXED

Daniel Craig’s fifth and final James Bond movie is currently shooting in Scotland. And now Moneypenny star Naomie Harris, reprising her role for the third time, has teased a new kind of 007 in the 51-year-old’s character. Speaking with The Mail, the 42-year-old actress said: “We’re seeing a real evolution of his character. He’s now having equal relationships with the female characters and he’s emotionally attached, making real connections.”

She added: “There’s real respect for the women in his life.

“There are now four women in the script and they all have incredibly strong roles and play a huge part in driving the story forward and assisting Bond.”

Meanwhile, Bond 25 has faced numerous production problems from director Danny Boyle quitting the project and Craig needing ankle surgery after a set injury, to a controlled explosion going wrong at Pinewood Studios.

Asked if Bond 25 was “jinxed” as some are calling it, the Moneypenny star was insistent this wasn’t the case.

Harris asserted: “No, not at all. I really don’t believe that.

“If you put the spotlight on any film, you can find things that have gone wrong or people who have been injured – that’s the nature of film-making.

“There are always bumps in the journey, and sometimes when there are bumps, there may be a better movie at the end.”

Meanwhile, it’s alleged Craig wants Ed Sheeran to write and sing the Bond 25 theme.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Craig’s daughter has made him a fan of serial chart-topper Sheeran; and now he could be in line to get the job.

“Daniel was introduced to Ed’s music by his daughter Ella,” a source told the paper.

“She loves Ed, and Daniel now really likes his stuff too and wants Ed for the theme tune.”

Bond 25 will be released in UK cinemas on April 3, 2020.
