James Bond 25: Daniel Craig calls in THIS Star Wars actor to spice up his final 007 script

And now The Observer reports that Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been roped in to have a go on the Bond 25 screenplay.

The 33-year-old is best known as the creator of hit BBC sitcom Fleabag and developer of spy thriller Killing Eve. She also played Lando Calrissian’s sassy droid L3-37 in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Bond 25 sources claim Craig is a fan of Fleabag and met with Waller-Bridge in New York to discuss how to improve the script.

Allegedly, the 007 star feels it needs “polishing”; wanting more humour and her “offbeat style of writing”.

Assuming Waller-Bridge has been brought on to work on the Bond 25 script, she will be the second female writer on a 007 movie.

The only other was Irish writer Johanna Harwood, the secretary of original Bond producer Harry Saltzman.

Harwood worked on the screenplays for the first two 007 movies starring Sean Connery; Dr No and From Russia With Love.

Earlier this week Bond 25 director Fukunaga was spotted in Matera, Italy.

Professor Michele Zasa posted a photo of himself with the film-maker to Instagram yesterday, hailing his “passion” and “intuition”.

He captioned the snap: “It was an amazing pleasure to meet this young and super talented art director!

“Cary Fukunaga in Matera climbing one of the most impressive Matera 9th Century rock churches. I’m sure that Cary will masterfully direct the new Bond 25. He got talent passion intuition! Bravo!!!

“For any cultural and archaeological suggestion you can always count on me!!”

Bond 25 is released in UK cinemas on April 3, 2020.
