James Blunt demands £3million from Simon Cowell for The X Factor comeback

The singer, who rose to fame in 2004 with chart smash You’re Beautiful, previously served as a judge in the Australian edition of The X Factor in 2015.

However, despite claiming to love his time Down Under, he wouldn’t jump at the chance to return.

Chatting to Daily Star Online on the red carpet at The Ivors 2019, James, 45, said: “X Factor have rebranded it again?

“I really enjoyed my time in Australia and it was really good fun but I think I will just focus on my day job of making music than going back on it.”

“Then again if he is offering loads of money… if he is then maybe a couple of million”

When pushed as to if he would really be able to say no to Simon Cowell if he called up, James continued: “I don’t think so.”

Smiling, the cheeky chap added: “Then again if he is offering loads of money… if he is then maybe a couple of million.

“Actually, call it three.”

Earlier this year Cowell revealed two new editions of The X Factor will air this year.

First an All Stars version of the show will grace ITV followed by a celebrity edition of the programme.

Daily Star Online previously broke the news that hard-man Vinnie Jones is all but signed up for the show.

An insider spilled: “Vinnie looks all set to take part in the celebrity edition of The X Factor.

“Talks are ongoing and the details haven’t been agreed but it’s more than likely he will make the final line-up.

“He may have a rough and ready persona but Vinnie is a great singer and loves performing.”

A TV source added: “It’s early days and producers have been inundated with requests from celebrities wanting to be on the show.

“They are in talks with a variety of exciting names, but it’s way too early to confirm anything.”
