Jameela Jamil, Skai Jackson and Bebe Rexha are some of the stars who tweeted about an earthquake that hit Los Angeles on Friday night.

A 4.6 magnitude earthquake hit Southern California at about 11:38pm.

No damage was reported, and the LAPD reported that there were ‘no significant incidents’.

However, LA-based stars took to Twitter to express their shock and check in on fans.

Jameela Jamil opened up about her reaction, writing: ‘Scared the living s**t out of my dog. I however was brave, cool and calm and definitely didn’t scream “oh s**t we’re gonna die” and I’m definitely not stress eating Mexican food now.’

Singer Bebe Rexha added: ‘Woke up from the #earthquake I’m like shaking I dunno what’s up with me. I was expecting it to be a bad one. Hope you are all safe. Love you.’

Director Ava DuVernay shared a sweet story about her grandmother, writing: ‘First thing I did after the earthquake is call my Gramma to check in. I asked: “Gram, you okay?” She starts laughing and says: “That was a good one! A nice little jolt.” She was born in South LA in 1932. That earthquake didn’t even solicit a full shrug from this lady. #angeleno.’

Meanwhile, Lauren Jauregui certainly wasn’t in an enviable position as she asked: ‘Why did an earthquake just happen while I’m drunk…um no.’

Skai Jackson brought out the memes, while Drag Race star Trixie Mattel added: ‘Ready for LA people to tweet about an earthquake for 48 hours.’

And Whitney Cummings provided her followers with some sage advice, urging them: ‘No do not use this earthquake as an opportunity to text you’re ex – he’s fine.’

Following the earthquake, the LAPD tweeted: ‘Per our Department Operations Center, fortunately there are no significant incidents to report related to the 4.6 magnitude earthquake.

‘Be prepared for potential aftershocks & only use 911 for emergencies. You can use 877-ASK-LAPD for non-emergencies in the City of Los Angeles.’

The police department added: ‘Prelim reports are that it was a magnitude 4.6 earthquake centered 2 miles WSW of El Monte. As always, be prepared for potential aftershocks.’
