THE Voice crowned Jake Hoot as the winner of season 17 tonight with Ricky Duran following as runner up.
Katie Kadan was left in third place, while Rose Short landed in fourth place.
After he was announced as the winner by the show’s host Carson Daly, his coach Kelly Clarkson jumped on stage to hug him.
His wife and daughters followed quickly behind and hugged him as he wiped away the tears of happiness.
The other coaches and Ricky also hugged and whispered words of congratulation to the 31-year-old Texan.
Blake told Ricky before the winner was announced: “This has been a hell of a journey and to be standing where you two are standing is unbelievable. I hope you have both lived in the moment and appreciated this.”
“Both of you guys (Ricky and Jake) have earned this, so congratulations.”
Kelly then told Jake: “This has been the most talented group. You two have made it. Everyone’s really great here.”
“Jake, I’m so proud of you and to be your coach.”
Fans got to watch the last four contestants battle it out during the season finale of The Voice.
Jake on Team Kelly, Katie on Team John, Ricky on Team Blake, and Rose on Team Gwen reached the last round and sang on their own and with celebrity singers.
Fans also got to enjoy performances by The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, Dua Lipa, Luke Holmes, and Jennifer Hudson who performed Memory from the movie Cats.
Last season’s winner Maelyn Jarmon took center stage and sang Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
Rose Duran got to sing In The Midst Of It All with Yolanda Adams, and Ricky Duran got to sign with Gary Clark Jr.
Katie Holmes performed Cher’s Do You Believe In Life After Love along with Adam Lambert, while Jake Hoot got to perform alongside Little Big Town.
