Jake Gyllenhaal shows off toned quarantine physique as he puts on his shirt while doing a handstand

They’ve remained friends beyond the filming of their 2019 superhero film Spider-Man: Far From Home.

And on Thursday, Jake Gyllenhaal accepted pal Tom Holland’s ‘impossible challenge’ to put on his T-shirt while performing a handstand.

The 39-year-old Southpaw hunk showed he hasn’t been slacking off in California’s mandated coronavirus quarantine, by displaying a ripped physique while performing the challenge.

The Spider-Man actor, 23, had taken to his own Instagram Stories on Wednesday to reveal he had been nominated by pal Ollie Gardner.

Sharing a video of himself shirtless, Tom revealed he had been tasked to do the ‘impossible challenge’ as he joked: ‘How do you do this, man?’

Yet despite his initial concerns, the star went on to show off his impressive strength as he successfully put on a T-shirt while doing a one-arm handstand.

Feeling both exhausted and triumphant after the challenge, Tom yelled: ‘Oh my God.’

Although the star didn’t let his friends get off lightly as he went on to nominate Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds and Harrison Osterfield to do the task next.

Ryan is yet to respond but Jake poked fun at Tom as he shared his video on his own account and penned: ‘Wait. @tomholland2013 what’s the challenge??? Shirtless heavy breathing??’ he added: ‘Oh. Never mind. I see. OK. Gimme a minute.’

The stunt comes after Tom revealed he has bought chickens to ensure he has a fresh supply of eggs throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

The actor showed off his new fowl friends, Predator, Ranger and Chestnut, on Instagram and explained he’d decided to raise them in his garden after being unable to buy what he needed from his local shops.

He said: ‘With everything that’s going on, the supermarkets are all empty. There’s no eggs; we have no eggs.

‘So we thought to solve that problem, we would become the source of eggs. Now, we’re the owner of chickens.’

Tom will be hoping the chickens lay eggs soon as he currently can’t go to the shops as he is isolating after falling ill.

However, the Spider-Man star told how he doesn’t believe he has coronavirus.

He said earlier this month: ‘I’m feeling very ill today, but I don’t think I have got the coronavirus, but I’m taking extra precautions. I’m self-isolating inside…

‘This is the first day I’ve felt really ill. I felt fine yesterday and then this morning I woke up and I just was awful, coughing.’

While he’s self-isolating, the Hollywood star has promised to be ‘more present’ on Instagram.

He said: ‘I’m going to try to be a little bit more present on my Instagram during this time because I have nothing else to do.’

Work had been due to begin on Tom’s new movie ‘Uncharted’ this month, but pre-production has been pushed back due to the pandemic.

It’s currently unknown when the shoot will start up again on the video game adaptation – which will also star Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas, Tati Gabrielle and Sophia Ali – or if it will still be released on 5 March 2021 as planned.
