Jadon Sancho tipped to join Man Utd or Chelsea in British record transfer

Danny Murphy believes Jadon Sancho is on course to break the British transfer record in 2020.

Sancho, 19, continues to be linked with a return to the Premier League from Borussia Dortmund.

Despite his obvious talent, there have been a number of incidents this season involving Sancho that have fuelled speculation he could return to English football.

Manchester United are long-term admirers while Liverpool , Chelsea and former club Manchester City are also said to be interested.

Murphy believes Old Trafford could be a potential destination, although Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is likely to be in the mix.

“Jadon Sancho’s statistics for a teenager are out of this world, particularly when talented young wingers sometimes struggle with an end product,” he writes in the Mail.

Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho celebrates

“I can see him moving from the Bundesliga to either Chelsea or Manchester United in 2020. The fee will surpass the current record of £89million for Paul Pogba and I can’t see Dortmund turning that down.”

While Sancho could arrive at United, Murphy believes it is only a matter of time before Paul Pogba departs.

The Frenchman, who missed the win at Burnley on Saturday, remains a target for Real Madrid and appears set to move on.

Danny Murphy believes Sancho could be on the move

“At 26 years old, Pogba will not want to wait any longer to play for a properly established top team,” he added.

“When a saga drags on and on, it has only one ending, as it did with Luis Suarez going to Barcelona and Cristiano Ronaldo leaving for Real Madrid.”

United climbed back into fifth in the Premier League with the win at Burnley and return to action against Arsenal on New Years’ Day.
