The intentional popstar first applied to go on The X Factor in 2008 however was booted out on the first stage of Bootcamp.
During her first audition, Jade, then 15, initially impressed the judges – despite Louis Walsh branding her ‘unusual’.
Fighting her corner, Cheryl gushed: “I think you have a lovely voice.”
She later added: “I wanted that little Geordie girl to go through.”
Now a snap taken at Bootcamp has emerged in which Jade looks unrecognisable as she enjoys a meal with wounld-be superstar Liam Payne.
With a short bob-cut and pink cardigan, the siren is a far cry from the big hair, PVC and latex costumes she rocks nowadays.
Like Jade, Liam also tried and failed to make it onto the 2008 series of the show.
The star made it to judges’ houses, however Simon Cowell decided to send him home.
Gushing over the throwback shot, one fan wrote: “Jade Thirlwall and Liam Payne got the best glow up in history and no one can convince me otherwise.”
Another added: “I didn’t even know they knew each other back then.”
“Wow, so different,” a third added.
Little Mix are currently enjoying some down time before embarking on a European tour.
The LM5 tour starts in Madrid on September 18 before reaching the UK in October.
However, before then the girls are booked to play Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Middlesborough alongside twerking pop legend Miley Cyrus.
