Jada Pinkett Smith: I didn’t know if I could do Jordyn Woods justice

Jada Pinkett Smith was unsure whether to invite Jordyn Woods to discuss the Tristan Thompson cheating row on Red Table Talk as she feared she would not “do her justice.”

Woods hit the headlines earlier this year when it was reported that Khloe Kardashian’s then-boyfriend Tristan Thompson had kissed her at a party.

The 21-year-old, who was best friends with Kardashian’s sister Kylie Jenner at the time, eventually shared her side of the story on Smith’s Facebook Watch show, which the actress hosts with mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones and daughter Willow Smith.

Pinkett Smith told Standard Online that it was “difficult” to decide whether to feature Woods on Red Table Talk as the show was still in its infancy.

“What was difficult was making the decision of whether to do the interview or not because of how close we are and it was so new to me,” she said.

“I didn’t know whether I could do her justice and I only had one shot. I didn’t know if I was equipped enough to be her one shot.

“And then so many things transpired behind the scenes that just made it impossible not to do [the interview].”

Pinkett Smith, who has been married to fellow actor Will since 1997, revealed that she uses her past experiences of being interviewed to help her guests – including Tiffany Haddish, Gabrielle Union and Toni Braxton –   “open up.”

“It’s easy for me because I’ve been on the other side of being interviewed for so many years,” she said. “So all I think about is, ‘what would I need in order to open up?’”

New episodes of Red Table Talk air in September, exclusively on Facebook Watch.
