Jack Grealish tipped for summer transfer by Aston Villa teammate amid Man Utd interest

Jack Grealish has been tipped to move on to a “big club” this summer by his Aston Villa teammate Frederic Guilbert.

The Villa captain suffered heartache in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final as his side were narrowly defeated by Man City.

It could prove to be the last chance Grealish has of lifting a trophy with his boyhood club should he go on to leave at the end of the season.

Villa are out of the FA Cup already, and now face a battle to remain in the Premier League.

But whether they are involved in the top flight next season or not, Guilbert feels they may be without their talismanic skipper.

“He’s a top player,” Guilbert told France Football. “I think he has the ability to go to a big club this summer.”

Man Utd look the favourites to land Grealish, as the Red Devils are reportedly lining up a £60million bid.

They are also said to be prepared to triple Grealish’s £50k-per-week wages to tempt him to Old Trafford.

Grealish has also attracted interest from Man City, and has the chance to put himself further in the shop window if he earns a call-up to England’s Euro 2020 squad.

Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate has so far opted against including the 24-year-old in his squad, but is under increased pressure to give Grealish a chance in this month’s scheduled friendlies.

Grealish has been the driving force behind Villa this season, scoring eight times and providing seven assists for his team.

And Guilbert was in no doubt about his international credentials.

“The Euros, clearly, he will go,” he added.

Immediate attention must turn to Villa’s relegation battle however, with the club currently 19th in the table.

Grealish told Villa TV after Sunday’s final: “We showed great fight out there and towards the end, I thought that we probably could have come away with something.

“Credit to the lads, we left everything out there and it will give us a lot of belief going forward.”
