He told The Sun Online:  “Before you go on the show you have a psychiatry test and when you come out of the show you do again, immediately after.

“I haven’t been called or anything by the production team for nearly nine months now so I think it is something that needs to change.”

Paying tribute to Mike, who he worked with in a gym before they found fame, he said: “Mike was a lovely guy, very down to earth, very humble, liked to party, girls dropping at his feet, he was young and had this fame but without the right guidance, like anyone, it can happen and unfortunately it has.”

Like Mike, Jack has seen a huge change in his life since being on the show but he is determined to be prepared for whatever the future might hold.

The star, who is currently presenting a new series for BESTFIT TV, continued: “I am very aware of what I have and what can be taken away from me. I am not somebody who thinks this is going to last forever.

“In a few months, I am going to be the old guy in the block so things will inevitably slow down for me. I am quite aware that the highs are very high and the lows can be very, very low.”

Mike was found dead in a wood in North London over the weekend.  It comes after fellow Islander’s Sophie Gradon’s suspected suicide last June.

A number of Love Island stars have spoken out about the need of better after care on the show.

Yesterday Zara Holland, who was dumped as Miss Great Britain after having sex on the show in 2016, blasted:  “Contestants are chewed up and spat out. Nothing’s changed. There’s zero care — and now something terrible has happened again.”

Series 2 of BESTFIT TV can be viewed on FreeSports via Freeview, Sky and Virgin on Monday evenings. Jack stars on the show tonight at 8.30pm.

YOU’RE NOT ALONE

EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.

It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.

It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes. And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.

Yet, it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.

That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign. To remind anyone facing a tough time, grappling with mental illness or feeling like there’s nowhere left to turn, that there is hope.

To mark World Suicide Prevention Day, we told you the stories of brave survivors, relatives left behind, heroic Good Samaritans – and shared tips from mental health experts.

The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.

Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others. You’re Not Alone.
