Jack Black’s starred in so many movies throughout his career he’s bound to forget one or two.

And he’s proven that’s definitely the case after his own Christmas flick, The Holiday, completely slipped his mind.

We can’t relate.

When asked what his favourite Christmas film is, the 50-year-old told Variety: ‘My favorite holiday film – it’s got to be Elf. Jon Favreau and Will Ferrell just knock it out of the park.’

Questioned if he was being humble by not mentioning his own Christmas movie, the star asked: ‘Do I have a Christmas movie? Which one is mine?’ before exclaiming: ‘Oh, The Holiday! Obviously, The Holiday! Nancy Meyers – genius.’

It has been a good few years since its release we suppose – but you can’t get away from those re-runs.

The movie, which stars Jack alongside Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz and Jude Law, is a festive favourite, with Jude previously revealing he still gets people coming up to him on the street about it.

He’s clearly had a wildly different experience to Jack.

This year has seen people getting creative with all our favourite Christmas movies, with Die Hard even being recreated on ice.

It’s…different?

And Love Actually has been given the political treatment, with Boris Johnson creating his own spoof, leaving star of the movie Hugh Grant less than impressed.

You and us both Hugh, we’ll never be able to look at Andrew Lincoln the same way again.

‘I did notice that one of the cards from the original film that he didn’t hold up was the one where Andrew Lincoln held up a card saying “Because at Christmas, you tell the truth,”‘ Hugh told BBC Radio 4.

‘I just wonder if the spin doctors in the Tory party thought that was a card that wouldn’t look too great in Boris Johnson’s hands.’

Ouch.

Meanwhile, Jack is currently starring in Jumanji: The Next Level alongside Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, as well as taking on YouTube, after deciding he would challenge PewDiePie as the platform’s biggest YouTuber.

Only 98 million subscribers to go.
