IU’s song Peach – which was written about Sulli – has re-entered Korean charts after the death of the former f(x) star.
The sweet ballad, which featured on IU’s 2012 single album Spring of a 20-Year-Old, was written about IU’s close friend Sulli from the perspective of a man.
And after the 25-year-old, real name Choi Jin-ri, was found dead on 14 October, fans have been re-listening to Peach to remember Sulli.
The song has re-entered the Melon chart at number 29 and the Genie chart at number 18, as fans stream the single.
IU – real name Lee Ji-eun – confirmed that the lyrics of Peach were about Sulli, saying: ‘I wrote the lyrics about Sulli from the point of view of a man.’
Speaking on MBC’s Radio Star in 2013, Sulli said of the song: ‘IU and I hosted a music program together, and she had told me that she would be writing a song for me. My fans call me Peach, so when her new song came out, I called to ask her about it, and she confirmed that the song was for me.
‘The lyrics were all compliments, and things that IU unnie [older sister] would tell me whenever she saw me.’
The pair were close friends and on a recent episode of Night of Hate Comments, Sulli admitted that trolls would ask why IU, 26, was friends with her.

The Goblin singer said: ‘She would always cook for me whenever I visit her. I would post online with hashtags like “Amazing Ji-eun’s freshly cooked rice”. I would post this on my social media.
‘People would comment “Why did you sell out, Ji-eun?” I saw comments like these.’
IU has yet to comment on Sulli’s death.
Sulli was found dead in her house in Seongnam on Monday afternoon by her manager.
While an official cause of death has not been confirmed yet, police are working off the assumption that she took her own life.
A fan memorial is being held today and tomorrow for Sulli at Shinchon Severance Hospital, while her funeral will be kept private.
