Italy holidays: New face mask warning for Britons – major fines for those who flout rules

This means holidaymakers from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales do not have to enter into a mandatory quarantine period upon their arrival back home.

“Travellers arriving in Italy directly from the UK are now usually exempt from the requirement to self-isolate,” states the FCO.

However, there are some exceptions to this.

“You will only need to self-isolate if you will be arriving in Italy from a country for which there are still self-isolation requirements or you travelled to a country for which there are still self-isolation requirements in the 14 days prior to your arrival in Italy,” explains the FCO.
