It sure looks like Zendaya just got a bob

Zendaya may not have graced the Met Gala red carpet this year, but she’s still making headlines for her look on the first Tuesday in May.

The Euphoria star was spotted in Boston on set for her newest film, Challengers, with a fresh short haircut. We were certain she was wearing a faux bob at her last red-carpet appearance, but these photos below may confirm that it’s been real all along (or that in both instances, she’s wearing a very good wig). The new cut is a bob that hits right at Zendaya’s chin and shows off loose, pretty waves. It also appears that she has new blonde babylights to go with the cut.

This is one of many hair changes Zendaya has made over the past few months, and we’re living for each and every one of them. She’s debuted a faux (maybe real?) bob, a honey blonde shade, a deep auburn shade, a ’60s flipped lob, and TikTok’s favorite bouncy blowout since last November. Now that she’s filming, though, we can expect the short hair to stick around for a while.

Zendaya wasn’t able to make it to this year’s Met Gala due to filming. “I hate to disappoint my fans here, but I will be working,” Zendaya told Extra during a red-carpet interview at a Euphoria For Your Consideration event. Wearing an incredibly chic tailored Fear of God suit with an oversized blazer, Zendaya continued, “Your girl’s got to work and make some movies, so I wish everyone the best. I will be playing tennis…but I will be back eventually.” She added, “I’ll keep delivering in other ways.”

If you’re wondering about the tennis reference, in Challengers Zendaya will star as Tashi, “a tennis player turned coach” who pressures her husband, Art (Mike Faist), into competing against his former best friend and her former boyfriend (Josh O’Connor) in a tournament on the lower-level professional tennis Challenger circuit.
