Love Island 2020 is drawing to a close with one lucky couple soon to be crowned the winners of this year’s show.

This evening’s Love Island final will feature a poignant memorial to former host Caroline Flack.

The group were told about the tragic death of the former host off-camera, in order to give them time to come to terms with the loss.

A source told Metro.co.uk: ‘It seemed only right to remember Caroline at the end of this series, as the team as a whole come to terms with her death. ‘It’s been a difficult time for everyone behind-the-scenes of the show, and especially Iain and Laura, so this will commemorate Caroline and everything she’s meant to the team.’

Aside from the tribute, will tonight’s final be live? And will Laura Whitmore return to host it?

It will be a late night for the islanders as the action will kick off at around 11pm their time.

The show will be hosted by regular host, Laura Whitmore, who admitted on Instagram that she’s had a ‘tough week’ ahead of the Love Island final.

The star posted a picture of her posing in a pink leather suit and a Choose Love t-shirt together with the caption: ‘So many emotions ahead of [Love Island] the Live Final tomorrow from 9pm.’

‘Been a tough week, let’s give all the love to the islanders. Who’s your favourite couple?’

Laura was a close friend of late host Caroline, and earlier in the week paid an emotional tribute to the ‘vivacious and loving’ TV presenter, urging people to be more ‘kind.’

Ahead of the final, Laura, 34, touched down in South Africa on Thursday, where her emotional reunion with boyfriend and Love Island narrator, Iain Stirling was ruined by an invasive photographer at the airport.

Once the winner is crowned, the couple will each be given an envelope, one containing £0 and one containing the full cash prize of £50,000.
