THE popular Parisian detective series is back on our screens on Sunday May 17.

When is Maigret on ITV and is it a repeat?

Maigret Sets a Trap will air on ITV on Sunday, 17 May, 2020 at 8pm.

The episode is a repeat, it originally aired on 28 March, 2016.

The second half of the series will air again on Sunday, 24 May, 2020 at 8pm.

According to the Radio Times, there will be no new episodes of Maigret as Rowan Atkinson is “committed to other projects”.

Fans will be disappointed to discover ITV has announced they have “no current plans” for more Maigret.

Who is in the cast of Maigret?

Maigret Sets a Trap boasts an all-star cast.

Chief Inspector Jules Maigret is played by Johnny English actor Rowan Atkinson.
Inspector Janvier is portrayed by Shaun Dingwall, who also stars in the hit show Noughts and Crosses.

What’s Maigret about?

Maigret is an adaptation of the books by Georges Simenon and follows Atkinson’s Jules Maigret as he solves crimes in 1950s France.

The drama began on ITV in 2016 and has run for two series on the channel, each consisting of two episodes.

Each episode is two hours long.

Fans can watch past episodes of Maigret on Amazon Video Player.
