Semiconductor and tech company Intel has partnered with UNIVERSITY Esports, an esports tournament series focused on students in UK and Ireland.

As a part of the partnership, Intel will become one of the sponsors of UNIVERSITY Esports’ upcoming 2024 Winter season.

UNIVERSITY Esports is a tournament series first created in 2020 and operated by GGTech Entertainment. The event series is open to interested students from the UK and Ireland, and has tournaments in several popular esports titles. For the 2024 Winter season, VALORANT, League of Legends and Overwatch 2 events will take place.

Intel shared that the company is “committed to the development of young talent through esports and video games” and that its products will be used by students at the event so that they can enjoy the best gaming experience.

Not a lot of information was shared about the collaboration, but Intel is no stranger to collaborating with grassroots and smaller event organisers. Previously, the company has collaborated with NSE and EPIC.LAN in the past on a series of activations and events.

The Winter 2024 season of UNIVERSITY Esports will conclude on November 25th, 2024, and will be produced by students from Confetti X studios in Nottingham.
