While the first day of winter may not officially arrive until December 22nd (who decided that?!), we’re taking it upon ourselves to totally ignore the official calendar and instead taking our cue from the plummeting temperatures outside.
And with a reported -9°C night last night, we see no time better than *right now* to snap up the cosiest coat you can get your hands on and sit in it until spring.
But with so many brands launching some seriously epic outerwear, trying to find the real gems can feel like a minefield.
Luckily, despite its drawbacks, Instagram serves up a smorgasbord of sartorial inspo daily, and right now there’s one coat that we can’t stop spotting on our feed.
Checked, cosy, belted and unexpectedly orange, Warehouse have officially launched one of the most must-have pieces of the season via this midi delight.
The perfect way to zhuzh up a relatively basic outfit, we’re seeing it paired with everything from straight leg jeans and a sweater, to smarter camel trousers and a long-sleeve tee.
As for footwear, some of our favourite influencers are proving that it works with everything from boots to trainers, Converse to even sandals, and we all know what that level of versatility means… cost. Per. Wear.
But with this being a high street piece, you needn’t fret too much about the price point. Ringing in at under £100 – £96 to be precise – it’s perhaps more than you’d usually drop on a single purchase, but by no means is it ‘expensive’ compared to others of this style and quality.
Much like shoes, outerwear also warrants a higher price than other wardrobe-fillers. After all, you’ll be wearing it far more often than even your favourite trousers…
