Instagram is down AGAIN: Site crashes for users around the world for the third time in days

  • Instagram began receiving reports of a global outage at around 10:30 a.m. (ET)
  • Users are having issues logging in, refreshing news feeds and opening the app
  • The issue marks the third outage to have hit Instagram in just the past few days

Instagram has been hit with yet another outage for users around the world.

The Facebook-owned social media app started receiving reports of an outage around 10:30 a.m. (ET) on Tuesday.

It marks the latest in a string of service issues at Instagram, with the app crashing late last week, as well as a few days prior to that.

Instagram has been hit with an outage that has prevented many users from logging into the app, while others said they couldn't refresh their feed, open the site or respond to DMs

Users in Europe, most of the US, the UK, South America, Australia, Malaysia and parts of China appear to be those hit hardest by the outage, according to Down Detector

The majority of users reported having issues logging into the app, while others said they couldn’t refresh their news feed, open the website, respond to direct messages or leave comments.

Some were hit with an error message that read: ‘We’re sorry, but something went wrong. Please try again later.’

Another message users reported receiving said: ‘Couldn’t refresh feed.’

By 11:00 a.m. (ET), more than 5,600 reports had been submitted from users who were affected by the outage.

As usual, users took to Twitter to express their frustration about the outage.

One user wrote: ‘I don’t know what’s happening? Is Instagram down again, or is it my internet speed?’

‘Instagram is down like once a week now,’ another user wrote in a tweet.

The outage comes after Instagram experienced similar issues last week.

Instagram was down for several hours on Thursday, affecting users from the US to Australia, as many were unable to post photos, send messages to other users or login.

On June 7th, Instagram again was hit with an outage, wherein thousands of user reports described issues posting photos, refreshing their feed and accessing direct messages.

In both cases, the outages were resolved within a few hours of them being reported.

Additionally, the social media app wasn’t the only popular service to experience an outage on Tuesday.

Google Calendar crashed for many users around the world late Tuesday morning.

A notice on Google’s G Suite dashboard said it was investigating the outage.
