Kate and Rio Ferdinand are happily married after tying the knot in 2019 and are currently living together in his family home, along with Rio’s three children.

Former Towie star Kate decided to ditch reality TV to focus on being a step-mum to Rio’s kids, Lorenz, 13, Tate, 11, and Tia, nine, who lost their mum Rebecca Ellison – Rio’s first wife – to cancer in 2015.

Kate ditched her home in Essex to move in with former footballer Rio and the rest they say is history.

The Ferdinands are currently at home self-isolating in their multi-million pound property that comes complete with stunning bedrooms, a huge open-plan kitchen and a fancy high-tech gym to suit the needs of fitness enthusiasts Kate and Rio.

Kate is often seen sharing snaps to social media of her home life with Rio and the children and the couple let the cameras into their swanky home while filming for BBC documentary Rio and Kate: Becoming a Stepfamily.

The kitchen seems to be a central place for them all, with Kate often sharing her love of cooking as she cooks up a storm in the kitchen whether it be a roast chicken or her finest roast potatoes.

Sleek cream fitted cupboards line the walls and a huge breakfast island looks out onto the property’s sprawling garden and outside space through glass windows.

It’s surrounded by a large dining table big enough for the family of five and more and a comfy sitting area, where Kate’s pet pup Ronnie is often seen chilling out with her and Rio on the sofa.

Outside, the garden has plenty of space for sporting activities, where a basketball hoop, football goals and a fancy high-tech gym can be found.

Kate is often working up a sweat in the gym that has everything from a weight rack, to heavy-lifting weight machines, mat space to work on those abs and cardio machines too.

The couple surely bonded over their shared love for fitness and while in isolation, Kate and Rio have set up their own exercise-inspired YouTube channel, Ferdinand Fitness, where they share their joint workouts filmed at home, from either inside their plush pad or outside on the driveway, on the patio or the grass.

One of the house’s grandest features is it’s statement staircase that provides the perfect picture spot for the famous couple, whether it be Rio showing of his new book or Kate flaunting a glam new outfit.

At Christmas time the couple go all out to decorate their home, with elaborate decorations covering the bannisters and a huge Christmas tree taking pride of place in the roomy kitchen.

Kate also has a dressing room where she often stops to snap a quick mirror selfie of her OOTD before heading out.

Despite Kate’s relationship with Rio going from strength to strength, she has admitted that she found it difficult when she first moved in with her man and the kids.

Kate confessed she ‘cried every day for a year’ after moving in, as she struggled to put her stamp on the family home.

She explained: ‘I cried every single day for a year when I first moved in with Rio,’ she says. It was an incredibly difficult time because his mum Janice passed away [of cancer in 2017] just two years after they had lost Rebecca. My heart was breaking for them.

‘All I wanted to do was try to fix him, make the kids happy and be as kind and supportive as I could. I gave up my job, I wanted to do everything right… but I kept getting things wrong, like forgetting to put a gym kit in a school bag or missing an email from one of the kids’ teachers… I wasn’t a mum.’

Kate revealed in her documentary with Rio that she felt like she had ‘no place’ in his family home, with even little things like a Molton Brown soap she liked and bought with her from her flat being removed from the bathroom.

She now has it in all the bathrooms in the house and, with Rio and the kids help, has changed the home to put her own little print on it.

The children have a room dedicated to their mum and their nan, which has their pictures up on the walls, and is a little place for the kids to go when they want to be close to them.

Kate and Rio first began dating in 2016 and announced their engagement in November 2018, after Rio proposed in front of the kids during a trip to Abu Dhabi.

They tied the knot in September last year in a private ceremony held in Turkey.
