Inside Justin Bieber’s album launch from Hailey Baldwin phone calls to hilarious anecdotes

It’s not everyday you get to hang out with Justin Bieber and jam to his new music.

But that’s exactly what happened to us lucky few in London last week when the Yummy singer hosted a very intimate and very private playback for his new album Changes.

Biebs jetted over to the capital on Tuesday (11 February) just a few days before the Valentine’s Day release of his long-awaited fifth studio album.

Sadly we have no pictures to share due to high security meaning our phones were pinched from us for the afternoon we got to spend with Biebs – cries – so you’ll just have to take us at our word.

Surprisingly, Justin arrived fairly promptly once everyone was seated so the album session started pretty quickly.

Rather than just letting each song play continuously, Justin kindly talked us through each track which is pretty standard for a playback.

But it became clear very quickly just how passionate he was about each song, closing his eyes to embrace each lyric or singing along to particular notes he was proud of mastering.

So it was basically Biebs in his natural element – if you imagine David Attenborough narrating that scene.

When he wasn’t emotional about the music, Justin was entertaining us with his naturally witty personality.

He took great delight in retelling a story about his friend of 10 years, Michael Alexander, whom he accidentally ‘kicked in the nut sack’ not realising that his pal and his wife were having fertility problems at the time.

Don’t worry, Michael has gone on to have two children so Biebs didn’t do too much damage.

If you haven’t had the chance to listen to Changes yet, then you might not be aware that it was written in dedication to his wife Hailey Baldwin.

And he definitely let us know about it at the playback.

Hailey was too tired to answer Justin’s FaceTime (Picture: MEGA)

‘The thought of being without my wife gives me chills. We talked this morning, she’s in LA. This album is my love towards her and hopefully it translates,’ Biebs told his small audience sweetly.

It was at this point he tried to FaceTime Hailey but to no avail, as she was fast asleep on LA time.

‘She’s sleeping and would probably be annoyed but I miss her,’ he admitted.

Isn’t he the cutest?

Towards the end of the session, Justin became incredibly reflective and touched on his faith.

‘My life has taken so many changes all the time,’ he admitted.

‘There were times in the past when I would blame God, that’s what helped me keep pushing and not step out on faith.

‘Tomorrow’s not promised and so fragile and short, what happened to Kobe Bryant was so tragic and just reminds us that life is so tragic and short.’

That’s what you might call, growth.

And if you’re loving Biebs’ new music and are desperate for more bangers, fear not because he’s promised he ‘won’t leave it so long’ until his next record.

Phew.

It turns out that Changes was originally meant to be titled Journals 2, a follow-up to his 2013 compilation, but teased that it will be his next album.

Looking forward to it, Biebs!
