'I'm cursed when it comes to Adele – I had tickets for three shows and missed them all'

Fans were recently left disappointed after Adele cancelled a series of Las Vegas concerts at the last minute, especially Eleni Sabracos who claims to have missed every one of the singer’s concerts she’s ever had tickets for

There are few things more exciting in life than bagging tickets to see one of your all-time favorite singers and the dismay that follows a cancellation can be crushing.

Pity then poor Eleni Sabracos, who has missed out on seeing Adele not once, not twice but three times.

I mean, Adele fans are surely used to shedding a few tears on the regular, but this really does take the biscuit.

In a TikTok video that has since been viewed over 10.2 million times, Eleni detailed the three separate occasions that she has missed out on seeing the global superstar, the first time being when she wanted to see her live at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

This time, Eleni explained, nobody felt too sorry for her as she’d bought the tickets from Craigslist and they turned out to be, perhaps unsurprisingly, fake. However, the next time, in 2017, she’d actually flown out to London to see the music icon, having bought special golden circle tickets for Wembley Stadium.

Showing a diagram of the venue, an exasperated Eleni exclaimed: “Look at the stadium, look at the standing room, and I was in the golden circle!”

Sadly it was not to be yet again, with Adele cancelling the final two concerts of her tour after damaging her vocal cords. The singer declared that she was “devastated” at the time, and Eleni was not much happier.

Eleni recalled: “I’d risked my life flying to London on this cardboard airplane called WOW airlines that has since been discontinued. The only Wow about it was that it was surprising that the airplane could fly”.

To add insult to injury, Eleni was further reminded of her blow when she decided to head out for food after the cancellation. The name of the Uber driver who came to pick her up was an oh so close ‘Adeel’. Whether he had a similarly breathtaking vocal range remains unknown.

After this second let-down, Eleni made a TikTok video which went viral enough to land her a spot on The Ellen DeGeneresShow. Sadly, Adele wasn’t doing any press events at this time, meaning there was no heartwarming “Ellen you didn’t!” moment.

It was at this point in time that Eleni began making t-shirts with the slogans “I love Adele like Adele loves Beyoncé” and “My mum loves Beyoncé”, earning her the online nickname ‘Adele shirts TikTok girl’.

Eleni would have been forgiven for thinking her luck was finally changing when her brother kindly gifted her tickets for Adele’s 2022 tour. Little did she know that she was in for further frustration, with the beloved popstar deciding to postpone her Las Vegas residency shows.

Eleni’s followers could not believe her run of bad luck, with one person suggesting she “should just take Adele to court for emotional damage”. Another philosophized: “You said Adele, the universe said ‘Adeel'”.

Fortunately, Eleni and others who had been gearing up for the Las Vegas shows were in for a real treat when Adele decided to call them up out of the blue, but definitely not uninvited.

In a follow-up vid, Eleni could be seen telling her “queen” that she loves her over FaceTime, declaring that she just wants to “get a glass of wine” with her.

Despite her understandable sadness, it’s clear that, for Eleni, it’s all water under the bridge.
