I'm A Celeb's Kate Garraway close to tears as she walks the plank in debut show

I’m A Celebrity star Kate Garraway was forced to walk the plank as part of her first challenge as part of the show’s blockbuster opener.

The Good Morning Britain presenter looked scared in first look pictures of tomorrow’s launch as she was hooked to a harness 300ft on top of a huge high-rise building in Surfer’s Paradise, Australia.

Kate, 52, has been partnered with Ex On The Beach voiceover and comedian Andrew Maxwell as part of the first task.

The pair have been spotted wearing matching blue polo shirts with their fellow campmates sporting different colours to match their partners.

It appears that the group of 10 celebrities is divided into separate groups early on in tomorrow’s debut episode.

Kate and Andrew are joined by purple team members Myles Stephenson and Roman Kemp and Jacqueline Jossa and Ian Wright from the green team at the top of the Australian skyscraper when they are told by Ant and Dec that they all have to walk the plank.

The dramatic challenge has been seen on the show before but this time there seems to be an added twist with a ladder and a further extension on the plank.

Contestants Roman, Andrew and Ian seem to be relaxed when they receive the news about their first challenge but Kate, Jacqueline and Myles appear frightened at the prospect of falling overboard.

TV favourite Kate is seen with her head in her heads as she prepares to embark on her first obstacle before heading into camp.

Viewers will have to see how Piers Morgan’s friend will cope with the task.

Insiders promised this year’s plank walk will be the “most nosebleed inducing heights challenge yet”.

Back once again, the 300ft high plank is reportedly “deliberately more wobbly”.

Speaking about the pre-jungle challenges the celebrities face, executive producer Olly Nash told The Sun: “They’re going to have to be braver than ever.

“The walk-in itself will see us return to the plank. It’s the biggest and most horrendous, wobbliest thing. We tested it earlier in August and we made it deliberately more wobbly.”

I’m A Celebrity begins on Sunday at 9pm on ITV
