I'm a Celeb's Jacqueline Jossa talks impact of fame on Dan Osborne relationship

Jacqueline Jossa is currently appearing on the 19th Series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

The former EastEnders actress was catapulted to fame when she was cast in EastEnders in 2010 as Lauren Branning, taking over from Madeline Duggan who played the role from 2006 to 2010.

Following seven years alongside on-screen sister, Lorna Fitzgerald, the pair left the programme in September 2017.

Discussing her rising profile since appearing on the show coupled with her marriage to former TOWIE star Dan Osborne, Jacqueline revealed the downsides of fame prior to her stint in the jungle.

Jacqueline said she wasn’t aware about fame when she joined EastEnders in 2010

In an exclusive chat with Daily Star Online, the small screen star opened up about fame and family life.

Asked if she could be happy just being a mum of two with no celebrity attachment, she replied: “I would love to be able to do what you do and then not have the bad parts of being famous. I hate the word famous. I feel like it’s awkward. It’s cringe.

“I’m probably going to go into this jungle and get star struck with everyone because I don’t feel like a celebrity. You know what I mean?

Jacqueline says she has ‘no regrets’ about her relationship with Dan Osbourne

“So I think if you just go about your daily life and not get recognised and not get the agg and not get the private life spilled out on papers and whatever, yeah, 100% drop it in a heartbeat. But you can’t. You can’t have both.

“I love acting and I don’t regret one second of being in EastEnders, or anything like that. And I don’t regret one second of getting with Daniel, which obviously heightened our relationship and heightened everybody’s interested in it.

“But I don’t regret any of that,” she added.

The pair met in 2013 and married two years later

Speaking about her EastEnders role which propelled her to notoriety, she admitted she wasn’t “aware” of the other side of appearing in the soap.

“So I guess it just comes with the territory and I wasn’t aware of it. And I was 17 when it started. So I kind of was just buzzing that I got the job. You didn’t think of anything else.”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! airs weekdays on ITV at 9pm.
