Ian Wright was eliminated from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in scenes that aired tonight and downed a glass of champagne in celebration.
The former footballer lasted 19 days in the jungle but was voted out by the public – and now just seven campmates are fighting for the crown.
‘I feel it’s time,’ Ian said as he met Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
‘It’s becoming more and more difficult to focus on being positive and you’ve got people around you who need you to be positive around them.’
He then took a pause and looked at the glass of fizz in front of him, picked it up and downed it.
‘Get it down you,’ commented Ant. ‘Oh, he was dying for that!’
Ian then continued from exactly where he left off, adding: ‘You need to be positive around people and I found that towards the end there, I wasn’t positive enough for them.
‘It’s been unbelievable man, I swear to God.’
When asked about why he braved the show in the first place, Ian said: ‘I needed to find a new challenge for myself.’
Ian follows James Haskell, who was voted out I’m A Celebrity last night.
Cliff Parisi was eliminated from the show in scenes that aired on Monday, and he later confessed to smuggling salt and pepper into the camp by hiding the seasonings in his pants.
The former EastEnders star followed comedian Andrew Maxwell, who was the second campmate to be evicted following Radio 1 presenter Adele Roberts, who kissed goodbye to the jungle last week.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV.
