Blue boy band member Duncan James has not signed a deal to star in upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, despite rumours.

Duncan had been rumoured to confront his fear of snakes in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! but alas, we can only dream.

It will be the first series following Ant McPartlin’s return to the show after Holly Willoughby filled in while the presenter spent time in rehab following his struggles with alcoholism, and arrest for drink-driving.

As reported in the The Sun, Duncan had previously been approached for I’m A Celebrity, due to his ‘good looks and personality’ making him a ‘perfect fit for the jungle’.

The singer was set to be the third member of the band to appear on the show, with band mates Antony Costa appearing on the 2005 series, and Simon Webbe following in 2008.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, a spokesperson for Duncan clarified: ‘[They are] totally untrue. No idea where they got it from, but absolutely 100% inaccurate.’

The rumours follow a source close to Duncan, claiming: ‘The best campmates are the ones who have to overcome their fears – and Duncan has told them he is game for anything.’

It would follow news of Shooting Star team captain Ulrika Jonnson reportedly being ‘in talks’ to join the camp, despite previously stating she’d never take part.

In a talk from 2008, Ulrika said: ‘I know it’s a lot of money, and it’s been known to enhance the most paralysed of careers – Myleene Klass – but I don’t like the thought of being stuck in the same rainforest as Robert Kilroy-Snake.’

An ITV spokesperson also told Metro.co.uk: ‘Any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity are just speculation.’

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! returns to ITV later this year.
