BEING a parent is hard – deciding your way of parenting is a tough decision to make, are you going to be strict, relaxed or a bit of both?

One woman, named Annais Bolton, revealed that her relaxed parenting style often leaves people divided.

The 20-year-old is mum to one-year-old daughter Mabel-Maeve and took to TikTok to explain that ‘everyone wants to be her friend until they find out’ about her parenting style.

The young mum explained: “Everyone wants to be my friend until they find out…”

Annais proceeded to list the things that make her parenting slightly unconventional – including that she spoils her baby, goes clubbing and allows unlimited screen time.

She said: “I formula feed.

I had THREE babies in 2020 - other mums have no idea how insane it is
I never make my son do homework - I don't care if he doesn't get top grades

“I go clubbing.

“I don’t dress like a ‘regular’ mum.

“I allow screen time whenever.

“Mabel is spoilt and always will be.

“I’m 20.” 

Annais’ video has clearly got people talking as it has racked up a whopping 844.2k views.

It has 77.8k likes, 822 comments and 207 shares.

TikTok users quickly rushed to Annais’ defence, with many supporting her parenting style.

Many parents admitted that they also parent their children the same way, with many wanting to be friends with Annais as a result. 

One person said: “That’s because you’re a cool mum!”

Another added: “I feel like we’re basically the same person.”

A third commented: “So what, parent however you want to, as long as your baby is safe and loved which she clearly is no one can say anything.”

A fourth claimed: “I love these type of mums! I hate the messages that try to be perfect and stick their noses at people doing things differently.”

However, there were a few parents that disagreed with Annais allowing unlimited screen time.

One user commented: “Only thing I don’t agree with is screen time whenever, like no play with your child etc and maybe an hour a day.”

Another added: “I agreed until she said about the screen time.”
