The International Esports Federation (IESF) and the North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF) have announced the launch of over 3,000 free online esports courses.
Both parties, with support from Busan Metropolitan City, are hoping that the courses will help streamline organisational structures and educate IESF’s 128 Member Federations.
The Basics for Esports courses are available for free on ‘NASEF x Skillshot Academy’ for esports coaches, educators and enthusiasts of all backgrounds. Specifically, IESF aims to use these courses to mentor the esports industry to achieve a united ecosystem for the development of sustainable gaming worldwide.
The courses will look to cover the basics of the industry, including ‘Epsorts 101’. Other courses include modules on coaching, managing an esports team and planning a live esports competition.
IESF and NASEF first partnered in 2021, with the latter currently overseeing all of IESF’s education programs, including the Education Commission. The next initiative will be a series of workshops at the World Esports Championships Finals in Bali, Indonesia from December 1st to 12th.
Boban Totovski, Secretary General at IESF, commented: “IESF is providing accessible resources that will further strengthen and develop the esports ecosystem to all of our Member Federations and the World Esports Family. We are so excited to launch this project with the NASEF and we look forward to a series of opportunities to educate and empower our members by collaborating with NASEF to host workshops at the upcoming World Esports Championships Finals in Bali this December.”
Earlier this year, IESF announced it will be partnering with GIRLGAMER Esports Festival to develop the first edition of a women’s CS:GO tournament at the World Esports Championship.
On the other hand, NASEF signed a three-year agreement with the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) to become its official esports provider.
