A guest was crossing the rope-suspended bridge at the Anaheim park when he jumped up and down on it to show his children the bridge would not break, according to MiceChat.

During this, the guest allegedly snapped one of the wooden slats on the bridge, which is suspended roughly three stories above ground.

A picture on social media shows the damage to the walkway which led to its closure.

No guests were injured, although cast members attempted to find those involved in the damage.

The attraction, located at Adventureland at Disneyland, was closed for the rest of Sunday.

It was re-opened on Monday morning.

Facebook users found the situation hilarious.

Manual Valle wrote: “Not surprised. People are dumb on that bridge.”

Amanda Flud added: “I hope one of his kids said ‘told you so!'”

Donna Cole asked: “Why is this the fault of the guest? It’s not the first time an attraction at Disneyland has broken.”

Denise Hoshor suggested a “weight limit” should be introduced to prevent it happening again.

The attraction originally opened in 1962 as the Swiss Family Treehouse until it was renamed and reopened in 1999 as Tarzan’s Treehouse.
