MAURO ICARDI has issued Juventus with a “final ultimatum” to sign him – threatening to move to Roma move if the Old Lady don’t hurry up.
The Argentine star, 26, has long appeared to be on the way out of Inter Milan – with the arrival of Romelu Lukaku the final nail in the coffin.
Icardi has given the Old Lady one week to sign him – or he will head to their Serie A rivals instead.
The Inter striker’s wife and agent, Wanda Nara, has reportedly been in the Italian capital to sort a potential deal with Roma – having already met with Juve in Ibiza regarding a £54million deal last month.
One thing is for certain, Icardi is certain to leave the San Siro side this summer.
After a turbulent 2018-19 season, where he was stripped of the captaincy and then went on a 53-day strike.
LUK IN, MAURO OUT
Ever since, Icardi and Nara have been vocal in their desire to leave the club.
And last week, the Argentine striker was even stripped off his No9 jersey, in favour of new £73m signing Lukaku – who scored four goals on his debut.
Icardi has looked dead-set on a move to Juventus – but Maurizio Sarri’s side are thought to be waiting to see whether Neymar leaves Paris Saint-Germain.
Both Barcelona and Real Madrid are chasing the Brazilian star, with PSG mulling over a move for Juve’s Paulo Dybala as a replacement.
Should they lose Dybala – a target for both Tottenham and Manchester United earlier this summer – Juve will move for Icardi.
But Juventus may have to gamble sooner rather than later after the player’s latest ultimatum.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will be hoping Icardi stays put this summer, so they can make a move for him when their transfer bans in 2020.
