Ibiza Weekender fans threaten to boycott show after major shake-up


Ibiza Weekender fans threatened to switch over after a major shake-up happened for the new series.

Despite familiar faces such as Jordan Davies and David Potts making their return, one person was missing.

Comedian Joe Lycett wasn’t the usual voiceover, as Tom Rosenthal, 32, took his place.

Fans flocked to Twitter, gutted that Joe had left.

Fans were fuming after the show made a huge change for the new series

One said: “I miss the old voiceover guy.”

While another wrote: “That new voiceover guy is annoying.”

“WTAF! Why isn’t Joe Lycett narrating Ibiza Weekender? Something very much missing… Come back Joe!” added another.

Joe Lycett, 31, took to Twitter to yesterday, letting his followers know he’d left the show after six years.

He said: “I had a total blast doing the VO on Ibiza Weekender for the last six years, but it was time for me to go. The brilliant Tom Rosenthal takes over VO duties tonight from 10pm on ITV2.

“I adore Gyles, the team and the show and can’t wait to see what they’ve got up to from my sofa!”

Fans couldn’t let it go, and tweeted saying they wanted Joe to come back.

Another wrote: “My guilty pleasure started up tonight and not only have we lost Joe Lycett doing voiceover we’ve got a new female rep who has the personality of a flip flop.”

While another added: “What is going on with the new voice over, honestly had to switch it off, very irritating. Bring back Joe Lycett.”

“Joe Lycett’s voiceover was the best bit about Ibiza Weekender absolutely gutted he’s been replaced!” typed another.
