Hunger Games fans have been eagerly awaiting a new book by author Suzanne Collins, only to find out that it’s going to be all about President Snow.

Spoiler alert: They ain’t happy.

To break it down President Snow, played by Donald Sutherland in the movies, is basically the evil of all evils.

And while he may be the leader of the Capitol and the president of Panem, he doesn’t care for its people and he makes an enemy out of Katniss Everdeen #teamkatnissforevs.

It’s been revealed that Collins’ latest book in the Hunger Games franchise will be a prequel titled The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and it focuses on President Snow but not as we know him.

Entertainment Weekly released a teaser that read: ‘A teen born to privilege but searching for something more, a far cry from the man we know he will become. Here he’s friendly. He’s charming. For now, he’s a hero.’

Twitter had other ideas, however, and fans couldn’t hold in their anger on learning details of the book.

One fan tweeted: ‘I’ve been waiting a few years for anything from Hunger Games but I didn’t expect this sh*t.’

Another said: ‘I DID NOT WAIT 10 YEARS FOR SUZANE COLLINS TO WRITE ANOTHER HUNGER GAMES BOOK ONLY FOR IT TO BE ABOUT PRESIDENT SNOW. MISSED POTENTIAL FOR TELLING MAGS OR FINICKS GAMES. #presidentsnow #hungergames.’

A third added: ‘Not a single person on the planet asked for this.’

Not everyone was so against it, though, with a handful of others insisting that they’re still going to be reading and one person joking that they thought the Hunger Games was actually becoming a reality.

‘I can’t be the only person that thought #PresidentSnow was trending because @realDonaldTrump had finally announced the first annual #HungerGames or some other related dumb sh*t.’

No need to panic people, it’s still very much fiction.

The Hunger Games was brought to life by Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth on the big screen, with the pair starring as Katniss and Gale Hawthorne.

The triology was released between 2012 and 2015 and went on to make a whopping $2.97billion (£2.275billion) at the box office.

Although, if the new prequel is turned into a movie, it’s likely that Jennifer will be sitting this one out.

When asked about making an appearance in a movie prequel, Jennifer: ‘I wouldn’t be involved. It’s too soon.’
