Hugh Laurie hallucinations: How Stuart Little got into actor’s head on set

Actor Hugh Laurie is perhaps best known for his roles in American drama House, where he plays the title character Dr Gregory House. But the actor is also known for his comedy work with friend Stephen Fry, and his role in the 1999 animation Stuart Little.

Along with Hugh Laurie, Graham Norton will host Hollywood acting legends Robert Downey Jr. and Emma Thompson on his show tonight.

He will also be welcoming Monty Python’s Terry Gilliam and singer Sara Bareilles.

Over the course of his career, Hugh Laurie has earned two Golden Globe Awards and numerous other accolades.

While filming House, he was one of the highest-paid actors in the TV business.

Hugh is joined on the couch tonight by long-time friend from Cambridge, Emma Thompson, who recounts the first time she met Hugh.

Emma said: “It’s so odd sitting here now aged 60 because I clearly remember Hugh walking into the Footlights club room aged 19 dressed entirely in khaki.

“He did an audition as the emperor of China and I turned to my friend and said, ‘He’s a star.’”

The Graham Norton Show is on BBC One on Friday, January 24 at 10.35pm.
