Hollywood’s heaviest hitters are preparing for the 2020 Academy Awards this weekend.
This year’s ceremony won’t have a host, and all eyes will be on Todd Phillips’ controversial Joker, which picked up a staggering 11 nominations.

When are the Oscars?
The 92nd Academy Awards will take place on Sunday 9 February at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Because of the time difference, the coverage for the ceremony will being at 1am Monday 10 February for those of us watching on this side of the pond.
How to watch the Oscars in the UK
Sky Cinema customers will be able to watch coverage of the full ceremony from 10pm.
If you’re not a customer, you can buy a Sky Cinema Pass on NOW TV for £9.99 a month, which also gives you access to all the other Sky Cinema films – or you can also take out a seven-day trial which you can cancel anytime.
If you’re more interested in seeing who the stars are wearing the pre-show can be streamed online.
Oscars All Access: Red Carpet Live, the official red carpet preview show featuring interviews with the biggest names as they arrive at the Dolby Theatre, will be available to stream online via the Academy’s Twitter account from 11.30pm.
Who are the Oscar nominees this year?
Joker leads the pack – picking up nominations in all the major categories, including Best Picture, Best Actor in a leading role for Joaquin Phoenix and Best Director for Todd Phillips.
Joaquin Phoenix will go up against Leonardo DiCaprio for Best Actor, with Leo nominated for Once Upon A Time in… Hollywood.
Brad Pitt is also nominated for Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood, in the Actor in a supporting role category, and after snagging the BAFTA and the SAG Award – where he cracked a joke about Tinder and sent the internet wild with a Jennifer Aniston reunion – he’s the hot favourite to win.
Renee Zellweger is hotly-tipped to take home Actress in a leading role for her performance as Judy Garland. She’s up against Scarlett Johansson for Marriage Story, Charlize Theron for Bombshell, Saoirse Ronan for Little Women and Cynthia Erivo for Harriet.
